If you are waiting for Gray to go away, brace yourself….it isn’t.

I can recall my first love of gray. As a designer in North Carolina for a high end furniture store, Hickory Chair launched a designer series in which they featured traditional casegoods in flat gray painted finishes. That was it – I was hooked. In 2010, my kitchen took a dive into gray land with a patterned oversized industrial tile floor, gray cabinets and a gray cloud paint on the walls.

Inspiration:

Fast forward to 2017, and I am ready to update the look. Still in love with my gray, but really ready for a change. My current occupation doesn’t help with the sustainability of any décor in my home.

Inspiration:

Pantone’s Blackened Pearl has inspired me. It is a dense gray that can give dimension to a somewhat flat gray palette. It can be paired with pops of primary colors or blush hues.

So, choosing the hardware with a gray palette is really like working with neutrals. It works great paired with the popular Carrera marbles and even the new marble movement of Nero Portoro with it’s rich gold veins running through the deep black marble – Gray is here to stay.
